Mindful Awareness Practices
​
Mindful Awareness Practices are the signature educational programs of UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center. This six-week class series is open to the public and helpful to people of all backgrounds and religions. The classes lay the foundation for students to understand basic principles of mindfulness, develop a personal meditation practice, and to apply the principles in their daily life on an ongoing basis. Each class is a combination of lecture, practice, and group feedback and discussion. These classes are suitable for ages 16 and over.

In these classes, participants will learn mindful concepts that include:

An Overview of Mindfulness

Mindfulness of the Body

Obstacles to Mindfulness

Mindfulness to Help with Physical Pain

Working with Difficult Thoughts & Emotions

Cultivating Positive Emotions

Students will also learn a variety of mindfulness practices including:

Sitting meditation

Eating meditation

Daily life meditations

Relational mindfulness

Walking meditation/movement meditation

Practices to develop positive emotions

Refunds requested prior to two weeks before the first day of class will be assessed a $25 administrative fee. We regret that we cannot give refunds after this date. Refunds should be requested by email to: bdlynch4@gmail.com
MARC reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Registrants will be notified in advance of the class.
No refunds or credits are given to registrant “no-shows”.
